We have been a sponsor of the Hamburg Comedy Cup since 2013.
The Hamburg Comedy Cup is a remarkable success story in Hamburg’s local culture scene. Launched in 2003, it has grown into one of the largest cabaret competitions in Germany, with contestants arriving from all over the German-speaking world. For many up-and-coming artists the Hamburg Comedy Cup is an event not to be missed, and it has launched the careers of quite a number of comedians: Cindy from Marzahn, Matthias Egersdörfer, Timo Wopp, Nagelritz, Tobias Mann and Zärtlichkeiten mit Freunden are just some of the artists who can now proudly cuddle their terrycloth trophy.
The field of participants in the Hamburg Comedy Cup is just as vibrant and diverse as the organisers and their multifaceted calendar of events: as representatives of community work and cultural education, they organise cabaret, live music, dance events, children’s theatre, exhibitions, readings and much more besides across the entire Hamburg metropolitan area and throughout the year. The Comedy Cup offers audiences not only an interesting insight into the cabaret scene but also invites them on a journey of discovery through Hamburg’s urban districts – with a long-term impact.
Events and culture celebrating the history and heritage of black people. For an entire month (always in February), BHM organises music, poetry, lectures, youth programmes, spectacular children’s events and shows films and holds debates. Junges Hotel Hamburg has been supporting this organisation since 2010. Other partners include the US General Consulate in Hamburg and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
The Gay-Lesbian Film Festival Hamburg︱Hamburg International Queer Film Festival is Germany’s largest and longest-running LGBT film festival.
Every year in October, some 15,000 guests come to Hamburg’s cinemas and attend the accompanying parties and events. Now in its 27th year, the film festival is just as fresh and open-minded as ever. Junges Hotel Hamburg has been an active supporter of the event since 2011.
Art and culture are important factors that have contributed to the success of Junges Hotel Hamburg. That is why we like to give young and less well-known artists a chance to exhibit their works in our hotel. The only condition is that the paintings fit in with our hotel. We have regularly hosted art exhibitions since 2007, giving artists the opportunity to display their works to an audience for around two months. In 2012 our commitment to culture resulted in Junges Hotel Hamburg taking part in the HAMBURG ART WEEK.
Together with Daniel Wagner from Bandbaukasten Hamburg, we stage a series of music events entitled "Cosy Concerts" with fantastic unplugged performances. Every two to three months we prepare the stage for young and up-and-coming musicians who perform up close and personal. Entrance is free.
At irregular intervals we host readings by young writers in our BAR 14. Budding authors are invited to send their applications to email@example.com.
