Design Room 701 was created to mark the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Junges Hotel in 2015. The room resembles a small library with a cosy armchair for reading and a huge selection of books. The relaxing mood is perfectly rounded off by Carl Spitzweg’s painting “The poor poet”.
Design Room 702 was completed in time to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Junges Hotel in Hamburg in 2010.
The focal point of the room is the painting “Ferns”, which was created by WAL, a Hamburg-based group of artists. “Ferns” was designed to match the earthy tones of the walls, curtains and carpet, and it harmonises perfectly with the Danish-designed wallpaper “Nordic Leaves”.
In Design Room 703 your attention is immediately drawn to the photo collage “Contrasts” by Ann-Katrin Bahrs, which was designed to perfectly match the room’s red hues.
Bahrs fuses pictures of the Heide region, taken by the photographer Enno Oldigs, with her own images of Hamburg shot in the winter of 2010.
Design Room 704 was created exclusively by the Hamburg-based designer Martina Voss as part of Hamburg’s Design Festival in 2007.
She used ornamental details to trace the marks left by guests staying in a hotel room and invited guests to select the writing scripts and ornamentation in advance.
The essential details that make up the interior design of Room 704, the wallpaper, bedlinens and pillows, were cleverly embellished to represent the constant change in the room’s occupants, their nationalities and histories.
Design Room 705 was created in 2015 by our very own Junges Hotel staff. It features a lovely view over the rooftops of Hamburg with its many church towers and the famous Hamburg Town Hall.
Styled in a typically retro fashion, Design Room 705 takes guests back in time to the 1970s. The colour scheme is predominantly orange, green and blue. A new interpretation of a Roy Lichtenstein classic provides the perfect finishing touch to the room.
Design Room 706 was designed by our very own Junges Hotel team in 2011. The image “Ivory at Sunset” by the group of artists n³ was created to establish a connection with the subtle tones of the designer wallpaper.
The unusual yet calm, geometrical shapes of the wallpaper call to mind a Spirograph drawing tool and stand in direct contrast to the artists’ acrylic painting. Upon waking, the image is designed to focus our attention while allowing the eyes to wander, thus stimulating our creativity.
The concept for Design Room 707 was drawn up and created by Marco Schomburg.
The room owes its unique style to Asian-inspired airiness and symbols. Schomburg, who has also made a name for himself as a photographer, set the tone by decorating the room with the photographs he took and the impressions he made on his travels throughout Asia.
The room features a fascinating interplay of turquoise and red colours, also mirrored in elements representing Buddha and koi.
Design Room 708 was created by our own advertising and communications agency attents from Bremen. This is our “forest room” and it exudes its own, very special charm. Take a look at our extraordinary deer’s head (don’t worry, we wouldn’t decorate our rooms with stuffed animals), and enjoy quirky details such as our tree lamp and a view of a light-flooded clearing in the woods.
